Kristen Biggie, M.A, MFT, is a group facilitator at Milestones Ranch Malibu. Ms. Biggie, who received her master’s degree from Loyola Marymount University, trained in contemporary psychodynamic theory. Current modalities also include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Stages of Change Transtheoretical Model. Ms. Biggie has worked in a variety of capacities since becoming licensed as an MFT in 2008. She operated a private practice in West Los Angeles, helping people create durable change through cognitive behavioral and solution-focused treatment, as well as longer-term, growth-oriented counseling – depending on a client’s unique needs. Ms. Biggie has also worked as a primary care therapist in residential treatment, helping clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders establish and maintain mental health.
Ms. Biggie worked for many years in the academic and continuing education branches of her profession, teaching seminars preparing post-graduate students for the Board of Behavioral Sciences Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Social Worker state exams. She was a subject-matter expert in the areas of law and ethics, diagnosis, and theory. Ms. Biggie also specialized in the development and writing of state exam preparation material and continuing education courses. She is a native New Yorker, and when not working, she enjoys backpacking, ballroom dancing, and riding her Yamaha FZR600.
