On the weekend of July 8th, 2011, Milestones Ranch Malibu had the pleasure of hosting Jane Mintz, interventionist, for a 3 day long training based around her “Field Model of Intervention”. Recovery professionals from around the country, including Milestones Ranch Malibu’s own Deanna de Bara, had the chance to spend the weekend learning new and effective intervention strategies from one of the industry’s best.
Assisting Jane with the weekend training was Jennifer Miela, founder of “An Invite to Life” interventionist services and Paul Hamblin of the Bridge to Recovery in Bowling Green, KY. Together, the three possess an incredible wealth of knowledge on intervention tactics and the recovery field as a whole and were happy to share their experience and know-how with the attendees.
The group spent 3 days learning the ins-and-outs of Jane’s “Field Model of Intervention” – everything from initial assessment to finding the right treatment center for the client to role playing different intervention outcomes. The attendees were exposed to an abundance of invaluable information, formed new friendships and enjoyed the beautiful and serene mountain setting at Milestones Ranch Malibu. “It was an incredible experience” says Deanna de Bara, Social Networking Coordinator at Milestones Ranch Malibu.
“Before this training, I had no idea how much time, work and effort went into intervening on a person and getting them to treatment. I learned so much not only about intervention strategies, but on how to most effectively help our clients. It was truly inspiring to learn from Jane, Jennifer and Paul and it is an experience that I will never forget.”
