Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD and ADHD) are neurobehavioral developmental disorders that affect 3 to 5% of children worldwide, with 30 to 50% continuing to show symptoms into adulthood. People living with ADD and ADHD often have trouble concentrating and sitting still for long periods of time as well as difficulty controlling their emotions.

Children with ADD or ADHD are often mislabeled as “problem children”, an attitude and label that often follows them into adulthood. If left untreated, ADD and ADHD can cause a number of problems later on in life, including securing and completing education opportunities, difficulties maintaining relationships and consequences related to impulsive behavior.
