Denise Klein, MSW, ACSW - Executive Director

Denise Klein graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Master's Degree in Social Work in 1992. She was awarded social worker of the year in 1990 for her commitment, enthusiasm and contributions to the field of social work. Her community and organizational involvement includes the Red Cross, The Mission, Boyle Heights Technology Center, foster parenting and various Homeless Coalitions.

Denise has worked in various capacities throughout her career. She began her career serving as a Family Advocacy Therapist for the Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. After which time she provided therapy for families struggling with addiction and Axis 1 and II conditions for Lutheran Social Services for four years.

As Executive Director for Innerchoice Counseling Center in Loveland,Colorado, Denise designed and implemented an in-home based state of the art wrap around program for dual diagnosed patients and their families. Innovative and systemic re-integration and after-care services were facilitated by the Innerchoice team after patients had completed primary treatment for their substance abuse problems.

Denise's passion is for developing programs that help the entire family system while their loved one is struggling with substance abuse and co-morbid depression, anxiety, bipolar and other Axis I and II conditions.

Her belief is that the entire family system must be served in order to secure the most positive outcomes. Treatment is not done in a vacuum and must include the family system as well as the referring agent so that the continuum of care can be maintained.

Denise also believes that by recognizing the "divine spark" in each and every one of us, the healthy self can be nurtured, strengthened, and sustained. Her favorite quote is, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us." - Nelson Mandela.
